VEEDERSBURG — “Cranberry Blast” is the theme for the forty first Annual Fountain County “Bake-A-Rama” baking contest, which will likely be held Oct. 5 on the Fountain County 4-H Fairgrounds, west of Veedersburg.
All entries should comprise not less than 1/2 cup of Cranberries — recent, frozen, dried, cranberry sauce (complete or jellied) — which should be baked within the product. Displays should match into one of many following classes: cookies, truffles, pies, fast breads/muffins, yeast breads/rolls, miscellaneous or well being acutely aware (a recipe that’s low or fats free, excessive fiber or incorporates sugar substitute). Contestants should be current to enter and are restricted to 1 entry per class. There isn’t any cost to enter.
The recipe should accompany every entry and should be printed, typed or connected to an 8 1/2 x 11-inch sheet of paper. Pastry recipes should be included for pies.
Money awards of $20 for grand sweepstakes and $15 for reserve grand sweepstakes will likely be introduced.
Entries will likely be accepted from 9 to 10 a.m. Oct. 5. This system throughout the judging, starting at 10 a.m., will likely be introduced by Tammy DeMoss co-owner along with her husband Tony of Barnyard Blooms U-Decide Flower Farm in Covington. Luncheon begins at 11:15 a.m., and will likely be catered by Foxworthy Catering. The menu will likely be combined greens salad with grilled rooster breast, cheese, fruit and candied pecans, alternative of dressing and cup of soup. As well as, the Bake-A-Rama entries will likely be sampled following the luncheon.
The occasion is open to the general public. It’s not essential to be a member of Extension Homemakers to enter the competition or to attend this system and luncheon. Value for the occasion is $10.
