CHARLESTON — A Buffalo girl was appointed Wednesday to the West Virginia Home of Delegates in a district that features a portion of Jackson County.
Kathie Hess Crouse of Putnam County will signify the thirteenth District that features Putnam, Jackson and Mason counties. She succeeds Josh Higginbotham, who resigned earlier this month.
The appointment to the unexpired time period was made by Gov Jim Justice.
Higginbotham, a Republican, submitted a letter of resignation Nov. 5 to Home Speaker Roger Hanshaw, saying he now not lives within the district from which he was elected in 2016.
In September, Higginbotham stated he might run for the state Senate.
