ART26201, with Upshur County Colleges, will host the 2nd Annual YOUNG STORYTELLERS CAMP, open to highschool ages, from June 20-24, 2022, on the Colonial Arts Heart in Buckhannon, West Virginia.
The weeklong day-camp will concentrate on the normal Appalachian artwork of storytelling. Area is on the market for as much as 24 college students, who will carry out their tales on the Most important Stage on the conclusion of camp. All-stars James Froemel, Doug Van Gundy, and Jason Younger will return to guide the camp instruction.

CAMP FACULTY:
James Froemel is the winner of the 2015, 2017, and 2019 West Virginia Greatest Liar competitors, in addition to the 2015 Fibbin’ on the 4th storytelling contest in Ripley, WV. He has been featured in storytelling performances at faculties and festivals all through WV, and his work has been revealed in Goldenseal, the journal of West Virginia conventional life. James holds a BFA in appearing from WVU.
Doug Van Gundy is a broadcast writer and musician from Elkins, WV. He teaches English at West Virginia Wesleyan Faculty in Buckhannon, with a main concentrate on artistic writing, Appalachian literature, and humanities. His poems and essays have appeared in lots of journals, together with Poetry, The Guardian, The Oxford American, The Louisville Overview, and Goldenseal.
Jason Younger is a contract theater director and actor residing in north central WV. He’s co-founder and former creative director at The Gateway Repertory Theater, Classic Theatre Firm, VTC to GO program, and premier performer in West Virginia’s skilled comedy troupe, The Fearless Fools. He studied theater at Fairmont State College.
