Hendrix will award posthumously the honorary Doctorate
of Humane Letters diploma to alumnus and Civil Rights activist Jack Singleton
’63, who died in 2019. The diploma was initially scheduled to be offered in
spring 2020 however was postponed as a result of COVID-19.
About Jack Singleton
Jack Singleton graduated from Little Rock Central Excessive College
in 1957. His disappointment over the division and anger of the group surrounding
integrating the college impressed his life-long ardour for justice. He graduated
from Hendrix School and earned a Grasp of Divinity diploma from Perkins College
of Theology at SMU.
Singleton was recognized for his involvement in justice
