BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A person has been charged for allegedly attacking one other man at a retailer in Buckhannon.
On Jan. 3, officers with the Buckhannon Police Division responded to a name of an assault going down at Walmart in Buckhannon, in keeping with a prison grievance.
Whereas en route, officers had been knowledgeable that the sufferer of the incident was “bleeding from the top,” and when officers arrived, they had been taken to the place the sufferer was sitting towards the shop’s wall, officers stated.
The sufferer informed officers that Austin Arbogast, 22, of Buckhannon, was the aggressor within the incident and previous to officers’ arrival had approached the sufferer and “began punching him a number of instances,” and whereas the sufferer was on the bottom, Arbogast kicked him “within the abdomen and kick him within the face and head,” in keeping with the grievance.
Whereas attacking the sufferer, Arbogast “did have his arm round [the victim’s] neck” in what Arbogast later “said was a ‘neck restraint’ throughout his written and signed confession,” and the sufferer informed officers that “he remembered getting dizzy and virtually handed out” whereas within the restraint resulting from “not with the ability to breathe,” officers stated.
In the course of the altercation, which “lasted roughly 30 seconds,” the sufferer obtained “18 punches, one kick to the abdomen, one stomp to the face, one stomp to the top, three elbow strikes, two punches and two elbows to the again of [the victim’s] head”; whereas talking with the sufferer, officers noticed accidents per these assaults, in keeping with the grievance.
Arbogast has been charged with malicious assault. He’s being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
