To the editor:
Copper Nation Habitat for Humanity want to thank the Portage Well being Auxiliary for its current $6,400 grant towards constructing accessibility ramps for members of our group positioned in Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga counties. The Ramps-to-Go Program typically asks the home-owner to pay for supplies (roughly $800) to construct the ramp. The grant from the Portage Well being Auxiliary will permit CCHFH to supply the ramps at a lowered value or no value to the home-owner in the event that they meet revenue eligibility standards.
CCHFH took over the native ramp constructing program from the Keweenaw Kiwanis “Nailbenders” group, who donated their plans, some additional supplies and instruments, and a trailer to help within the new effort. The ramps are sturdy and will be eliminated sooner or later if a house owner not wants it.
We encourage those that know any individual who could also be in want of this help to contact CCHFH at 906-482-5376 to obtain a easy utility kind. Once more, we wish to thank the Portage Well being Auxiliary for his or her beneficiant grant.
